Well, It's official. Yesterday I "surrendered" my Georgia driver license. From sixteen until now, that little guy has listed my parents address. And now, I have a license (or a picture of it until I receive it in 45 days) with my new name and the address I share with my husband. Wow.
I was putting off the whole going to the DMV thing, not because I didn't want to make those changes. I just hate going to the DMV. Because the people that work there are so polite and patient. Not really.
I walked away only mildly scathed, but some weren't so lucky.
For Example: The nice lately in front of me walked to the counter and politely asked for a Drivers Handbook.
The lady behind the counter says, "I only have Spanish."
The 'Polite lady' follows up with, "Okay, do you know if they have any in the back?"
The 'Disgruntled DMV lady' says, "If I say I only have Spanish, I only have Spanish. I don't know if they have any in the back because I am up here."
'Disgruntled DMV lady' looks past 'Polite lady,' hinting that the conversation was over. 'Polite lady' walks away with no handbook, no help from the staff, and leaves.
How can you be next in line after that??
Wow.
I'm glad I don't have to deal with that until 2019. And hopefully I can do that online.
